Elizabeth II copper-nickel Matte Specimen Pattern "Charles 60th Birthday" 5 Pounds 2008 SP70 PCGS, cf. KM1103 (Pattern unlisted), S-Unl. (cf. S-L19 for regular issue). A visually intriguing Pattern issue struck in a matte-like finish with granular appearances and low relief renderings of Elizabeth and Charles. According to the artist, Ian Rank-Broadley, he preferred the finish seen here and "long thought that the finish on commemorative coins was too bright." Certainly an interesting Pattern for British collectors to aspire to own.
