1947-D 50C MS67+ CACG. This final-year Denver issue displays lustrous lilac-gray and violet toning on the sharply struck obverse, yet the reverse exhibits some of the most spectacular toning we have ever seen on a Walking Liberty half dollar. Brightly illuminated by vivid mint luster, shades of orange, turquoise, violet, and gold create a palette of vibrant color second to none. The intensity is instantly memorable and other toned Superb Gems are pale in comparison. This Plus-graded Superb Gem is housed in a new CAC Grading holder, with no 1947-D examples graded finer at either PCGS or NGC (8/23).
