Art Notes: This original work shows a circular design in yellow within a greenish blue background. The figure shows geometric designs resembling facial elements. The artist's signature appears in upper right corner, with "0-81" written below the signature. This work is accompanied by a typed letter from the previous owner, Mexican writer, playwright and screenwriter Hugo Arguelles (1932-2003). This Spanish-language letter, dated March 23, 2001, indicates 1981 to be the date of composition, that the painting was acquired directly from the painter and that it was a part of his private collection. This letter is on stationery of the Escuela de Escritores IMACP and is laid in an envelope from the same organization.

We received the piece in the frame, and from what we can see the watercolor is in excellent condition and is free of tears or markings. The piece is accompanied by a compelling piece of provenance, attesting to its authenticity. We provide this letter for contextual provenance purposes, the painting has not been officially authenticated and we are selling it with that caveat. This painting is being sold as-is, all sales are final.
