A Victorian rhodolite garnet set snake or serpent necklace, c.1850, with a pear cut garnet, set to the head, bordered by incised and textured leaves. Faceted garnets, rub set to the eyes, with hand textured and engraved decoration, pendant drop to the mount deficient, with a graduated and articulated body, with a concealed box clasp. Tested as approximately 15ct gold. A later case by Cameo corner Ltd, 26 Museum St. London W.C.1. Head 35.00 x 19.20mm, 380mm long, 23.88g Tarnished. Pendant drop deficient. Clasp secure. Some kinks/separation to the scales.
