One of two charming multiple Ducaton issues in this very sale, boasting the proud, armored bust of Philip IV enveloped in a vibrant cobalt aura, a consequence of long-term storage after an earlier cleaning. Particularly strong in its striking for a type generally encountered in significantly weaker states despite being seemingly struck with deteriorating dies, with the details of the armor and Order of the Golden Fleece fully discernible. While tooling is apparent throughout, the piece endures fully appreciable when viewed in hand and is most certainly worthy of advanced Dutch collectors.
