Parinirvana describes the passing into nirvana after death, the breaking of the cicle of samsara, karma and rebirth. We see Buddha lying on his side on a bed, his head resting on a cushion. Underneath the bed are three seated figures in prayer and devotion. There are five other figures standing around Buddha's bed. The side of the relief is finished with two pillars.
