This lot will be auctioned on Wednesday, November 10th. Note other lots in the auction may close on November 9th or November 11th. Abraham Lincoln's (Daniel Day-Lewis) pocket knife display from Steven Spielberg's historical drama Lincoln. Although not seen in the film, this item is an exact replica of the actual six-bladed knife which Lincoln always carried with him, including the night he was assassinated. It is believed that this lot was originally part of a charity auction held at the film's European premiere in Dublin in 2013, attended by Spielberg, Day-Lewis and Sally Field. Spielberg donated several items from the film and the proceeds of the event went to a local charity. The intentionally distressed knife is displayed in a black wooden frame, beneath a handwritten note from Day-Lewis, which is also autographed by Spielberg. There is some wear along the frame's edges. Dimensions (display): 41 cm x 25 cm x 3.5 cm (16¼" x 9¾" x 1½") Estimate: £800 - 1,200 M
- The cost is converted to USD at the rate of 1 GBP = 1.356225 USD on 2021-11-09.
