CIMMERIAN BOSPOROS. Pantikapaion. Circa 370-355 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.60 g, 7 h). Head of a satyr with animal ears and a pug nose facing slightly to left. Rev. ΠANTI Lion crouching left, head facing, holding spear in its jaws; all within shallow circular incuse. HGC 7, 66. MacDonald 43. SNG BM Black Sea 863. SNG Stancomb 535. Attractively toned and well struck. Slightly granular and with a tiny scrape on the edge of the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
