R.A.); Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, G.V.R. (618047 Sjt. R. Brewster. R.H.A.) mounted as worn, very fine and better (5) £1,000-£1,400 --- D.C.M. London Gazette: 18 February 1918: ‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He maintained telephone communication for three days during an action under heavy fire and in the face of great difficulties. He showed great initiative and fearlessness.’ An old label with the medals states that the D.C.M. was an award for Egypt. M.I.D. London Gazette: 11 January 1918. Rowland Brewster was awarded the Territorial Force War Medal per Army Order No. 380 of 1919.
