CILICIA. Tarsos. Domitian, 81-96. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 14.06 g, 12 h), c. 93-95. AYTO KAI ΘE YI ΔOMI - TIANOΣ ΣE ΓEP Laureate head of Domitian to right; filleted border. Rev. ΜΗΤΡΟΠΟΛΕΩΣ The Tyche of Tarsos, turreted and wearing robes, seated to right on a rock, holding a palm branch in her right hand; below palm, monogram of ΤΑΡ over a figure of the river god Kydnos, crowned with a wreath of water plants and swimming towards the viewer; border of dots. Prieur 750. RPC II 1727. An impressive example, struck in high relief, attractive toned and with a remarkably fine portrait. About extremely fine.
