Peace Dollars 1922-S $1 MS66 PCGS. The 1922-S Peace dollar

Peace Dollars
1922-S $1 MS66 PCGS. The 1922-S Peace dollar comes from a mintage of more than 17 million coins and is seen with regularity in grades through MS65. However, the issue is notably rare in MS66 -- exponentially rarer than either the Philadelphia or Denver issues of this date. It is also unknown numerically finer. For advanced Registry collectors, this piece is among the best options for a top-grade example. PCGS and NGC each report only a single Plus-designated coin in this grade that might be considered finer than the present (5/23). This representative shows radiant, frosty mint luster and virtually brilliant surfaces, with a wisp of amber toning through Liberty's upper hair curls. No significant abrasions are observed. Population: 28 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (5/23). From The Jlionel51 #8 Ranked PCGS Peace Dollar Set.
