A VERY FINE VITA ICON OF ST. SERGEY OF RADONEZH Central Russian, circa 1800 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely executed in great detail with golden borders. The twelve surrounding scenes narrating the life of the saint including his Nativity to the left. Rendered in a fine detailed manner with reds and greens against a rocky terrain and architectural views. Minimally worn. 35.8 x 31 cm.
