A George III silver tureen and cover Thomas Robins, London 1807 Circular form with tapering sides, overlapping tongue and dart rim, either side with upswept handles with ribbed embellishments and leaf junctions, issuing from below an applied moulded girdle, below this an engraved armorial either side with motto FIDE ET AMORE, the cover also engraved with twin crests, the dome shape surmounted with a leafy scroll embellished ribbed detachable handle, the knopped stem on a spreading circular foot with gadroon band, length handle to handle 36cm , diameter 29cm , weight 128.4oz .
