A Chinese hardwood brushpot, bitong, 19th century, possibly zitan, carved in relief with the seven sages of the bamboo grove and with three further sages in a pavilion, in a rockwork landscape with pine trees, on three carved feet, with a circular removable plug to the base, 16.7cm high, 16.1cm diameter ***CONDITION REPORT*** There are a few age cracks to the rim and five age shrinkage cracks around the circular plug of the base, a bit grubby in places, with some slight wear to the carved decoration in places, otherwise in reasonable condition.
