˜A 20 BORE OTTOMAN BALKAN MIQUELET-LOCK RIFLED CARBINE, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURYwith octagonal swamped etched twist sighted barrel chiselled with a low moulding at the breech and muzzle, rifled with nine grooves and retained by two engraved brass bands, the breech with standing back-sight, flat lock decorated with gold scrollwork and fitted with a fluted coral bead at the base of the cock, full stock inlaid with green-stained horn panels (small chips), applied with engraved brass foliate plaques behind the lock and behind the breech tang, faceted butt decorated en suite and with brass patchbox with cover beneath (the terminal segmented sections missing), bud-shaped iron trigger, and associated brass-tipped wooden ramrod53.0 cm; 20 7/8 in barrel
